IMPORTANT INFORMATION

You may have heard in the news that a change in the GP contract means that patients can now submit routine requests and queries online with your GP Surgery during core opening hours which is 8am until 6:30pm Monday to Friday.

At Shevington Surgery we use askmyGP for online requests and since the contract change there has been a new request form for these routine requests available from 10am until 6:30pm. The usual request form is still available from 7:30am until 10am and we encourage patients to use this form in the first instance and especially for any urgent or on the day requests and queries for the duty clinician to triage and ensure your clinician problem is delt with appropriately.

If after 10am you have an urgent problem that cannot wait until the next day DO NOT send the routine request form on askmyGP, please instead contact the Surgery on 01942 367420 and the reception team will send your request to the duty clinician to triage and arrange the most appropriate management.

The routine request form after 10am is for problems that can wait for the next available routine appointment which is usually within the next 2 weeks . If your problem cannot wait until the next routine appointment then this would suggest it is more urgent and you either need to send the request the next morning before 10am on askmyGP or if urgent for the day call the Surgery.
We do advise that any requests are sent as early in the day as possible as late requests cannot always be managed at the Surgery if we have reached capacity and we may have to redirect you to alternative services if this happens.

Home visits are done for housebound patients at lunchtime. We request any patient who needs a home visit contacts the surgery before 11am.
Thank you
